Disposable vs. Rechargeable E-Cigarettes: Which is Best?

While there are certainly advantages to having an e-cig that you can reuse, there are also some good reasons to use disposables instead. Here are just some of the pros and cons of each of these types of e-cigarette.
Rechargeable E-Cigarettes
Most people who use e-cigarettes prefer rechargeable models mainly because they perform better and last longer. They also provide more options as far as e-liquid is concerned. Not only can the batteries of rechargeable e-cigs be reused, vapers can switch out flavors whenever they want. An e-cigarette starter kit usually comes with several pre-filled cartridges so you can sample different flavors and decide what you prefer.
The downsides of rechargeable e-cigarettes mostly have to do with their higher upfront cost. It can cost between $30 and $70 for a rechargeable e-cigarette starter kit, with more advanced models being more expensive. You will also have to constantly recharge the battery and buy new e-liquid. This is admittedly cheap - e-liquid refills can be purchased for as low as $1 - but it is a hassle for some people.
Disposable E-Cigarettes
Disposable e-cigarettes have the advantage of being available just about anywhere. You will be able to find them in gas stations, tobacco stores and anywhere else cigarettes and cigars are regularly sold. This alone can be seen as a major pro for those who don't want to spend the time to hunt down a store that specializes in e-cigarettes.
They also have a lower upfront cost. A disposable e-cigarette can be purchased for $5 to $10, and each one is equal to one to two packs of cigarettes. Finally, disposable e-cigarettes are generally more convenient than rechargeable e-cigarettes. There is no need to recharge their batteries or buy replacement e-liquid; you only need to use disposables up and throw them away.
Of course, the convenience of disposable e-cigarettes comes at a price. They are generally of a lower quality than rechargeable e-cigarettes. After all, they're meant to be used up and thrown out. They are also much less versatile. While rechargeable e-cigarettes can be used with a variety of different e-liquid cartridges, a disposable e-cigarette will only have one flavor.
There are obviously a lot of things to consider when it comes to choosing between rechargeable or disposable e-cigarettes. In terms of quality, rechargeables are probably the better option if you don't mind the upfront cost and the hassle of constantly recharging the battery and switching out the cartridges. If convenience and easy access to a cheap e-cigarette is what you're looking for, disposable models are probably your best bet.
