One e-cigarette company has announced that they are releasing the first organic e-liquid for e-cigarettes produced from the USDA-certified organic, USP grade nicotine. This organic e-liquid from Vape Organics will give some vapers the confidence to know that there are no unwanted chemicals mixing in with the tobacco that goes into making the e-liquid.
The use of e-cigarettes is becoming increasingly more accepted; therefore, it should come as no shock that vapers are becoming more conscious (and demanding) of what is in their e-liquid.
Vape Organics announced their development of a zero nicotine certified organic e-liquid last September.
According to the founder of Vape Organics, Eko Handoko, their main goal was to provide a high quality product. Handoko said, “[t]o maintain product integrity and fulfill our mission of offering the vape community the highest quality products, we set out to develop a truly organic nicotine that is both USP grade and uniquely free of any petroleum-derived solvent.”
The U.S. manufacturing process differs from production in other countries (India and China specifically) because American companies offer transparency. In order to produce organic e-liquid, you start with organic tobacco leaves that are certified to be U.S. grown and pesticide free.
Having organic tobacco, however, does not equate to having organic nicotine. To prove your nicotine is organic, you need certification from Quality Assurance International (QAI), which receives accreditation from the USDA. In order to be certified with QAI, everything has to be inspected—the raw materials, the handling, extraction, processing, the facility and equipment used.
Sheerlie Ryngler, Vape Organics’ Director of Operations, expressed that their company cares about the quality of their e-liquid just as much as customers do. Ryngler feels that Vape Organics has “risen to the challenge and are doing our part to propel the vape industry forward with certified organic products and long-term vision. Consumers recognize and appreciate that our products harmoniously honor the connection between personal well-being and the well-being of the environment which sustains us.”
